if you give a mouse a cookie...

Are you familiar with this book?
This is what it is like at my house lately.

If your wife has christmas/birthday money she will want to buy new kitchen floors,
When you get new kitchen floors, you'll think you need a new refrigerator,
If you get a new refrigerator, you'll need a new stove to match,
Once the appliances have been replaced you'll want to redecorate,
before you can redecorate you'll need to take down the old border.
If you take down the old border you'll need to repaint.
(old paint doesn't go to ceiling and we don't have that paint anymore)
If you repaint, you'll want to paint the ceiling also.
If your going to paint the ceiling you'll need to put a beam or divider of some sort up between to kitchen and the rest of the house or you'll end having to paint the ceiling in three other rooms.
If your putting up beams you might as well replace the ugly ceiling fan in the kitchen as well because by now everything else is so pretty that the ugly ceiling fan is detracting from it all.

I'm sure you get the point.
These can't all be accomplished in the near future, as money and time will not allow. But at least I have a plan right. Adam would like to add new microwave to the list, I'm holding him off.

I'm so excited! Our new refrigerator arrived today. It's the first new appliance that Adam and I have ever purchased. It's so nice, clean, and shiny!
I promise that pictures are coming. I have already taken some I just need to download them to the computer and post. So hang in there.

We have stainless appliances and a white microwave. I mean I don't watch those stupid designing shows with Pam but I'm pretty sure that doesn't work together. Geez, what's another $100 at this point!!!

i have to agree with adam. while you'r at it, you may as well, make the microwave go above the stove and make it a vent-a-hood, or whatever those things are called. :)hehe.

OH Kylah,
That seems reasonable, yes! But you have no idea. The gap above the stove is to large that I'm pretty sure we couldn't find one to fit. This would lead us to getting new cabinets so that the gap would be the appropriate size.

Plus if we change the microwave we would still have one white appliance (dishwasher). And then it would really stick out like a sore thumb, so you can only guess what that would lead to...
